If you're an avid coffee drinker like us, you often enjoy your coffee on the go. Unfortunately, most coffee tumblers don’t provide a good experience. But when we developed the Elemental Tumbler, our goal was to create an experience as close to drinking from a traditional coffee mug as possible. And that's why we want to discuss the benefits of drinking coffee from a tumbler with a ceramic lid.
Traditional coffee tumblers have a lid that's made of plastic or stainless steel. These materials are uncomfortable and change the flavor of your coffee (or tea). But the patent-pending Elemental Tumbler Lid provides that at home experience you get from your favorite mug (even on the go)!
Read Why Coffee Tastes Better From Ceramic to learn more about the benefits of ceramic versus other materials. The ceramic Elemental Tumbler lid provides a superior experience for four reasons:
1.Improved Taste
Ceramic doesn’t affect the flavor of your coffee like stainless steel or plastic. There’s a reason coffee mugs are traditionally made of ceramic – it provides the best drinking experience. It’s also free of chemicals so it won’t leach harmful toxins into your beverage.
2.Protects Your Mouth
Have you ever taken a sip from your to-go mug only to be burned by the immediate flow of scalding coffee or tea? The Elemental Tumbler lid was designed with a well in the mouthpiece.
When tipped, the hot liquid pools in the well rather than flowing directly into your mouth. This helps prevent the surge of hot liquid from burning your lips or tongue.
3.Better Experience
There’s nothing like sipping that first cup of joe from your favorite mug each morning. When you’re on the go, that’s not an option. And a plastic coffee tumbler just isn’t the same. But thanks to the Elemental Tumbler lid you can experience that at home feeling even when you’re on the go!
4.The Stopper
This doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with the lid being ceramic. But it’s one of the features we appreciate about this mug.
The rubber stopper doesn’t interfere with the rest of the lid’s design and prevents any hot liquids from splashing out during transportation. Plus, it’s attached to the mug so it won’t get lost! That’s a good thing, especially before that first cup of coffee!
Other Materials Tumbler Lids are Made of
Like we previously said, traditional tumbler lids are made of plastic or stainless steel. But neither of these materials are great to drink coffee from. And here’s why...
Plastic
Plastic absorbs odors and flavors. These flavors get locked into the plastic and impart these flavors into the coffee. With time, these added flavors make it nearly impossible to enjoy the finer notes of coffee.
Stainless Steel
Unlike plastic, stainless steel doesn’t absorb flavor. However, it does impart flavor. This can be attributed to poor construction or low-grade quality materials (such as finishes that leach into beverages). As Deneen Pottery explains, this can also be due to “a reaction between one of coffee’s 1,000-plus compounds and the metal isn’t always clear.”
We realize it’s not practical to bring your favorite mug on the go. Movement and speed bumps can create a problem for a coffee mug in the car. And we’ve experienced the sad loss of a coffee mug hitting the pavement while trying to shut the door with your hands full.
We designed the Elemental Tumbler lid to give you that at-home-sipping-from-your coffee-mug-experience.
